We were raised on a farm in Topsham, Maine and grew up listening to WWVA and trying to imitate some of the sounds we love.

Cindy acquired a 1947 Martin D-28 and we both learned to play it and began singing country music in the kitchen, sitting around an old Glen cast iron stove.

Some years later on a trip to the Thomas Pt. Beach Bluegrass Festival after listening to the bands, the music so impressed us, we knew we wanted to do it. 

With some encouragement from our friends in the Back to Basics Band and later a call from Sandy and Greg Cormier to do our first festival, we were doing what we loved.
